Congratulations to Cayla Hunte, our 2025 Belmont Lake Civic Association Scholarship Honoree!

This week, at the North Babylon High School Awards Ceremony, we proudly presented Cayla with a $2,500 scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence, leadership, and incredible service to the community.
With a weighted GPA of 94.9, Cayla has distinguished herself as an outstanding student, athlete, musician, and Vice President of the National Honor Society. She is also a proud member of the Belmont Lake Civic Association and the founder of Cayla Hunte’s Helping Hands Foundation — a nonprofit that has served over 250 students locally, 80 students internationally in Guyana, and 15 families with Thanksgiving meals.
From donating 120+ coats to the Ronald McDonald House to organizing a Warm & Cozy Coat Drive and a meaningful Backpack Giveaway for underserved youth, Cayla exemplifies what it means to lead with compassion and purpose.
She will be attending the University of Connecticut (UConn) this fall, continuing her journey to become a teacher and uplift future generations.
We’re proud to support Cayla as she continues to shine her light on the world.
