Dear BLCA Family,

We pray all is well with you and your loved ones. Our community continues to grow stronger together, and we’re proud to highlight several recent accomplishments:

  • Youth Support
    Launched a $5,000 multi-year scholarship fund to support outstanding local High School seniors through the Belmont Lake Estates Foundation.

  • Community Beautification
    Enhanced the Belmont Avenue & Essex Street Welcome Sign with accent landscape lighting, decorative boulders, and perennial plantings creating a more inviting gateway into our community in partnership with PSEGLI and the Belmont Lake Estates Foundation. 

  • Engaging Community Events
    Brought together over 600 neighbors through our Summer Concert Series and Fall Festival, fostering unity, fellowship, and community pride.

  • Giving Back
    Collected and donated 550+ food items to local food pantries and 300+ toys to local charities and children’s hospitals, supporting families in need during critical times.

  • Strategic Funding & Investment 

  • Secured approximately $275,000 in New York State funding through the Office of NYS Senator Monica Martinez to support the development of a new playground at Brennan High School, advancing safe, modern recreational spaces for local youth.

  • Secured approximately $13,000 in Suffolk County funding through the Downtown Revitalization Program for the installation of a new Welcome Sign and landscaped garden at the Southeast Corner of Straight Path and Edison Avenue, enhancing neighborhood identity and streetscape appeal.

 

Looking Ahead

Several exciting initiatives are currently underway as we continue investing in our community’s future:

  • Advocacy for School Athletics & Wellness: Advancing efforts to enhance the Basketball Courts and Track at Brennan High School, supporting community health, teamwork, and school pride.

  • Youth Recreation Investment: Moving forward with the installation of a new playground at Brennan High School, creating a safe, inclusive, and modern recreational space for students and community members.

  • Community Beautification: Installing a new Welcome Sign and landscaped garden at Straight Path and Edison Avenue, strengthening neighborhood identity and enhancing another community gateway.

  • Honoring Legacy: Expanding the Memorial Brick Walk at the Mount Avenue Triangle, preserving community history while creating a meaningful space for remembrance.

  • Celebrating 67 Years of Service: Hosting our 67th Anniversary Luncheon, recognizing past leadership, celebrating progress, and reaffirming our commitment to the future.

  • Strengthening Community Care: Expanding and enhancing our Thanksgiving Food Drive and Christmas Toy Drive to more directly meet the needs of families within our community.
