Updates on Civic Activities
Beautification/Community Service has worked with The Town of Babylon to keep areas of our neighborhood clean including our entrance sign at Belmont and Essex, the adjacent sidewalk, The Triangle at Mount Ave. and the Bird Sanctuary along Lakeway Drive. For several years, The Environmental Committee has held our local politicians accountable for Sewers and the National Grid.
The Education/Scholarship Committee has hosted our North Babylon Schools Superintendent, Board and Principals keeping us updated on students, staffing, budgeting and District goals. We also communicate and serve on the North Babylon School District Equity Team.
Congratulations to our 2020 Scholarship Recipients Alyanna Felix and Kayla Boucher!
Our Political Action Committee has worked to influence the policies and decisions of our local elected officials. We attend meetings and have hosted them at our General Membership meetings. These politicians include, Councilpersons, Legislators, Assembly Members, Senators, Congress Members and Supervisors. Our Civic Association is a non-partisan group that encourages our members to vote and stay informed of all issues. For our all important Public Safety and Human Rights, Police Officers from the 1st Precinct report their activity at our monthly meetings. We attend their community events as well and work together to ensure traffic stays controlled, crime stays down and quality of life remains high.
